We are pleased to announce the latest issue of the Open Access Teaching Case Journal (OATCJ) from the OATCJ Editorial Committee: Jane Gravill, Fatih Yegul, Kevin MCDermott, and Anna Czegledi. The OATCJ is an open access publication; its stories are free to publish, and free to use.

The OATCJ publishes double-anonymous peer-reviewed case studies. It has a large and diverse reviewer community who rigorously peer review case manuscripts submitted at no cost to the original authors. This process ensures the quality of teaching cases.

While focusing on business and management broadly, the case studies encompass a diverse range of subject matter including sustainability, technology, sales, supply and demand, health science, entrepreneurship, and more.

Benefits of Using Teaching Cases

Case studies are a highly effective learning resource for students and instructors. For instructors, they provide a helpful way to bridge theory and a real-world environment. They turn abstract concepts into practical applications.

For students, the OATCJ is useful for actively engaging with subject matter. Rather than relying on rote memorization, case studies offer students the opportunity to engage with course material more interactively, leading to greater retention.

New Case Studies

This latest issue of the OATCJ addresses topics relevant to the current societal landscape, including the burgeoning gig economy and the impact of the massive expansion of artificial intelligence on specific industries.

Additionally, this issue explores entrepreneurial decision making in the clothing industry, strategic decision making in the tourism industry, and managing inter-departmental conflicts as a manager.

Free Course Content

The OATCJ is a resource that seamlessly connects academic theory with real-world applications.

By providing free, rigorously peer-reviewed case studies, the OATCJ empowers educators to bring practical insights into the classroom while offering students a more engaging learning experience. The journal's unwavering commitment to quality, supported by the efforts of its editorial team and extensive reviewer community, ensures that the OATCJ remains at the forefront of innovative, accessible education.

If you're an instructor interested in building on theory with real world examples, check out the latest issue of the OATCJ.
