Learning Spanish is more accessible thanks to the new Introducción al Español: Spanish Workbook. Betty Munera Rojas, MA, Faculty in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies, created this workbook to enrich the student learning experience.
Motivated by Professor Rita Palacios' OER Introducción al Español, Munera sought to develop an accompanying resource filled with interactive exercises to practice the Spanish language.
Clear about her objective, Munera "created this workbook to enhance the Spanish language learning experience through interactive exercises that target writing, listening, reading, and speaking skills."
That's precisely what this OER does. With various interactives, including audio, images, and videos, this resource is a multimedia-rich learning experience that promotes the retention of essential vocabulary and grammar concepts.
Language learning is evolving, and Munera is staying on top of the trends.
With speech recognition exercises, students use a microphone to get real-time feedback on their pronunciation. Practicing the language in a relaxed format like this enables stronger retention of vocabulary for the first-year students this resource is intended for.
Munera crafted a robust supplemental resource by mapping content directly onto the existing resource. It's ready to use this term, with two Conestoga professors confirming their adoptions for this Fall.
