We are pleased to announce the recent release of Auditing Information Systems: A Practical Approach, authored by Amit M. Mehta, a School of Business faculty member. Supported by eCampus Ontario, this digital open educational resource (OER) textbook is invaluable for those navigating the complex auditing information systems (IS) field.

This OER is designed to help students navigate the complexities of IS auditing and manage risks effectively. It is multi-media and includes interactive H5Ps and author videos summarizing key takeaways. It covers the latest IS auditing standards, ethical principles, IT governance, risk management, controls, and newer technologies such as cloud computing and blockchain.

'Auditing Information Systems: A Practical Approach' was developed as an Open Educational Resource (OER) based on my firm belief that knowledge, especially one as pivotal as Information Systems (IS) auditing, should be universally accessible. High textbook costs and the fast pace of technology often put students at a disadvantage. This book addresses these issues head-on by offering a comprehensive guide to IS auditing in a simplified and engaging manner, incorporating the latest industry practices. Developing hands-on content, multi-media resources, and real-world problem-solving activities for this OER has been tremendously rewarding. Collaborating with the fantastic team at Conestoga Open Learning helped me stay on track on multiple fronts, such as complying with accessibility standards, adopting a universal design for learning approach, effective project management, and third-party content copyright management and attribution. I highly encourage professionals and educators to connect with the Conestoga Open Learning team, led by Kim Carter and explore how they can contribute to open education. By sharing our expertise, we can make learning accessible, relevant, and engaging for all.
