Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 in many countries. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is a call to action and a reminder that gender equality is one of the most effective ways to build healthier, more prosperous, and more inclusive communities — because women’s success is everyone’s success. (Government of Canada, 2024; United Nations, n.d.) In line with this year's theme: “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” Open Learning @ Conestoga will highlight Conestoga women who are publishing Open Education/Open Access Resources (OAs/OERs) thereby contributing to the Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education and supporting the joint action for a shift to a green economy and care society. Throughout March, we will share various publications, their authors, and how you might find these resources useful. #IWD2024 #InvestInWomen
