You may have received a laptop as part of your program of study, purchased or leased one through the BYOD and LYOD programs, or maybe you just upgraded your personal computer. This page will introduce you to your new laptop and provide some tips and tricks to help you get more comfortable using it.

Every laptop you purchase has its own unique registration and warranty procedure. For example, if you have a different brand, like HP,, review the paperwork in your laptop box or search Google for the appropriate warranty and device registration page. Please see the handout and information below for Dell and Asus laptop models
Enter your device's serial number to inquire about your warranty status on the Dell Warranty & Contracts site.
If you encounter problems with your device, please contact Dell directly at 1-800-847-4096.
To extend your warranty, please check the Warranty and Service Extension options on the Dell website.
IMPORTANT! Please be sure to follow the steps during the initial setup to register the laptop in your name.
If you skip this step, you will need to manually register the laptop.
