OTA / PTA Supplemental Learning Guide

Students will develop their understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and learn how to use evidence-based practices to provide effective interventions for individuals on the spectrum. This self-directed course includes videos, readings, and quizzes, and takes approximately 6 hours to complete.

Students will learn about the benefits of physical therapy and exercise and explore the relationship between physical therapy, exercise, and common ailments like arthritis and sports injuries. This self-directed course includes videos, readings, and quizzes, and takes approximately 13 hours to complete.

Students will gain a deeper understanding of the anxiety response to COVID-19 and explore strategies for managing our mental health in the face our our changing world. This self-directed course takes approximately 3 hours to complete.

Care providers will explore evidence-informed best practices for supporting people living with dementia, as well as their care partners and family. This 100% self-directed course features the stories of real seniors in long-term care homes, retirement living, and home and community settings across Canada. This course takes approximately 5-7 hours to complete.

Students will learn about the care needs of older adults, including the importance of supporting the social and emotional needs of an older adult. This four-part, self-paced course takes between 5-15 hours to complete.
