Circulated from February 28th to March 15th, 2022, the survey collected results from nearly 300 international students across all 24 of Ontario’s public colleges to access a better understanding of international challenges, concerns, and feedback regarding their academics, finances, and health outcomes.

The new International Education Strategy builds on the attributes that make Canada a powerhouse in international education and aims, over the next five years, to diversify the education sector, boost Canada’s innovation capacity, promote global ties and foster a vibrant Canadian economy.

Teachers are aware that holding the same qualifications or training as other professions does not bring the same status, despite teaching and facilitating learning being complex work that requires significant expertise. The mandate for this Report was to consider the status of the teaching profession in the three years since the 2018 Report.

The Global Teacher Status Index measures the teacher status and level of respect for teachers in different countries.
