Supports for Students

The following FAQs introduce the services and resources faculty can refer students to for research, writing and technology support.

We have libraries at several campus locations, each of which has a wide range of study spaces, services and resources available. We provide drop-in information and research support for faculty and students in person at our campus libraries, as well as via our chat service, and students can also book consultations with our Research, Writing and Teach Me Tech team members.

General Login Info

Login to all resources is done using Conestoga’s Single Sign On process. Just like accessing Office 365, eConestoga, etc., you use your Conestoga email address and Condor ID password, and if you’ve already logged in to another application during your current browser session, you should not be asked to log in at all.

Page 1+

Most frequently, students and faculty begin their search using Page 1+, the library’s resource discovery platform. This resource can be searched without logging in; a login is only required when you click in to view a resource you find in your search results.

Page 1+ Sign In Feature

Note that the Sign In option at the top right of the Page 1+ interface is for accessing details about your current loans, favourited resources and personal search history. You can access the resources in your search results without signing in in this area.

Logging in to Other Databases

Unlike Page 1+, which allows you to view search results without logging in, when you want to dig deeper and search an individual database to discover more content, you are prompted to log in as soon as you click on the database.

Students looking for citation information specifically about APA can visit the APA @ Conestoga website, which has been updated to reflect the seventh edition. We also provide an extensive Writing @ Conestoga site to help students develop their writing skills. If students would like real-time help, they have several options with our Writing Services: drop-ins and bookable individual and group writing appointments, as well as workshops.

Faculty can refer students to our Teach Me Tech Services. They provide guidance via drop-in support and bookable consultations and workshops. We also offer access to a Digital Skills Toolkit for more self-guided learning related to Zoom, Teams, Office 365, video production, and other computer skills.
