What is a Creative Commons Licensed Image?

Some creators allow you to copy their work, such as images, without asking for permission. When creators want you to copy their work, they will often give their work a Creative Commons license. To learn more about Creative Commons, please visit

Note. When citing Creative Commons licensed images, include a CC licensing statement at the end of the caption. Add the shortened version of the CC license and, if possible, embed a link back to the license and original image.
