Copyright, Privacy, and Use FAQ

I have documents that I think belong in the Archives collection. How do I get them to you?

For basic digital files (e.g. PDFs of course calendars, meeting minutes, radio ads, etc.), please email ARC@conestogac.on.ca. Library staff can send a drop-off link for large files.

For physical items, please contact ARC@conestogac.on.ca to ensure the item aligns with the collection policy. Please note that any items donated to Archives Conestoga become library property. If library staff decide not to include a donated item in the archives, they will dispose of it in an appropriate manner.

Is duplication of material allowed?

Conestoga College may not hold copyright on all the material held in ARC. It is the responsibility of the researcher to determine if the use of archival material is in accordance with the Copyright Act and, when necessary, to seek permission from the copyright owner.  Material cannot be duplicated if the copyright holder cannot be determined.  Due to the condition or copyright restrictions of an item, it may be unavailable for photocopying or duplication. Please contact Copyright Support at copyright@conestogac.on.ca with any questions.

Some items in ARC are discoverable through Google and other search engines, and the library takes privacy concerns seriously. If there is information about you in ARC that you would like removed, please contact us with the relevant information (including a link to the item(s) in question) and library staff will investigate.
